Note: with this initial launch, we are limited to shipping to U.S. and Canadian customers. However, we love our international friends and are working to add more options. If you are in another country and interested in our stand, you can email us and we will let you know when our shipping options expand.

Howdy Stands: $45 USD to U.S. addresses. $60 USD to Canadian addresses.

Extra braces: ship free to U.S. addresses. $22 USD to Canadian addresses.

Taxes

As Oregon is a no sales tax state, and we are a very small business, we are not required to collect sales tax from residents in the U.S. or Canada. Maybe put the savings towards another dulcimer?

Step 1: Choose your dulcimer body style: Hourglass, Teardrop, Elliptical, Custom

Step 2: Determine if your instrument’s dimensions are compatible with our standard size braces.

Step 3: Order the appropriate style/size

If you are unsure of the correct brace size or need a custom size, contact us and we’ll get the measurements we need to get the right fit.

Production time

All Howdy Stands and components are built to order in our Oregon workshop. Build times will vary, but we know you want to get pickin’, so we’ll build and fulfill orders as quickly as we can. We will notify you when we have an estimated ship date.

Hourglass dulcimer brace sizes

The upper and lower bouts of your dulcimer must be larger than these measurements. Order the largest size that does not exceed the bout dimensions.
Small (less common)
Upper: 4.75”, lower: 5.5”
Standard (most common)
Upper: 5.5”, lower: 6.5”
Large (less common)
Upper: 6.5”, lower: 7.5”
Teardrop dulcimer brace sizes

The single (lower) bout of your teardrop dulcimer must be larger than 6.5”.
Standard: 2.5” and 6.5”
Elliptical dulcimer brace sizes

The single (center) bout of your dulcimer must be at least 6”.
Standard: 4.25” and 4.25”
Custom dulcimer brace sizes

Do you have a unique dulcimer style not listed here? Like a box-style, solid-body electric, resonator/dulcivox, Lap-Jo, Li’l D’bl Bass, or other non-traditional shape or size? Email us and we’ll ask for a few dimensions to enable us to build the stand that will fit your instrument (or instruments – we know you might have more than one!).
