First let’s set up The Howdy Stand to fit your dulcimer

We want to make sure The Howdy Stand fits like a glove and keeps your pride and joy safe and sound! While our standard braces will fit the majority of dulcimers, There are many, many instrument sizes out there, and so to ensure a proper fit we need a few simple measurements from your dulcimer.

  • If our standard braces sizes don’t fit, we will make a custom size for you at no charge.

  • Have multiple dulcimers of different sizes? An extra pair of braces, if needed, is only $20.

How to order

  1. Download our Howdy Brace Sizing Guide PDF

  2. Measure your dulcimer as requested

  3. Email us the measurements. Questions or issues? We’re happy to help!

  4. Once we’ve settled on the details, we will send you to our Etsy shop, where you can create a “custom order”. We will be alerted, and will send you a “private listing” link. From there you can pay and enter your shipping information.

Standard brace sizes

  • Hourglass shapes

    TYPICAL BRACE SIZES

    Standard: 6.25” and 5.25”
    Fits most hourglass dulcimers

    Narrow: 5.25” and 4.25”
    Fits smaller body instruments, such as Folkcraft® Kentucky-style body dulcimers

  • Teardrop shapes

    TYPICAL BRACE SIZES

    Standard: 6.25” and 2.25”
    Fits most Teardrop dulcimers

    Narrow: 5.25” and 2.25”
    Fit smaller Teardrop dulcimers

  • Elliptical shapes

    TYPICAL BRACE SIZES

    Standard: 4.5” and 4.5”
    Fits most Elliptical dulcimers
